Almost identical performance, no point upgrading and spending lots of cash. Waiting for Broadwell-E or Kaby Lake for more substantial performance gains.
My old cpu, 2600K, is from 2011. Turns out it was money well spent, as it overclocked well and have been running at 4.8GHz from day one. Still competitive performancewise.
